Do you sell fake carbon hoods with carbon vinyl?

No, we won't sell them for the following reasons:

• No purpose (same weight)
• No cooling benefit
• Short lifespan (it's easy to scrape vinyl film, deteriorates)
• Very easy to spot, no 3D effect in the sun, looks flat
• Gimmick y, belongs in the same category as fake big brake kits
• Labor intensive to install correctly

What's the difference between brands?

The major brands are: Carbon Creations, SEIBON, TC Sportline and VIS. We recommend Carbon Creations since they tend to have the best stock rate and excellent service, however SEIBON also has excellent service and make a very good quality hood. TC Sportline has been around for some time, but is really only know in wholesale circles, they make excellent quality hoods. VIS also makes great hoods, but tend to be out of stock more often than the other brands.

Will I save weight?

Most likely, YES. Up to 50lbs on a large hood like the BMW Z3, but you won't save anything if you have an already ultra light aluminium hood like the Acura NSX.
